ABOUT ME

Hi friends,

I am sudheesh. My full name is Sudheesh Sundar. I hail from a small village called chenthrapinni in Kerala. I started to draw pictures while I was in my primary classes. I think this skill runs in my family. My dad and uncle used to draw . yeah, it is in the genes, I should say. my dad who is passionate about drawing and painting couldn’t enter the world of art because of life’s hardships. But he was quite happy at my interest in drawing and encouraged me in every possible way. He has been my mentor and a great source of inspiration .

Like any other kid my usual subjects were birds, flowers, butterflies, deers, idyllic scenery etc. But my approach changed when I reached high school. My interaction with our drawing teacher Sadanandan made me think drawing in a different light. It took on a more serious tone. It was he who introduced me to water colours and different pencils .And this opened up a whole new world of possibilities . I found myself more interested in portraits. And I happened to hear about fine arts college. Soon getting admission to fine arts college became my life’s single most ambition.

After pre-degree I spent one year practicing and perfecting my skills and joined fine arts college. It was a real turning point in my life. Art with its news facets, vision and out look unfurled a new world before me. Stories about the lives of great masters, experiences of teachers, new friends , new ideas and a campus that gives total freedom to experiment , experience and create your own world.yeah, it was the most happening time in my life. Though there was a sense of friendship among students who hailed from various background there was also a healthy competition among us to come up with new creative ideas .

I took my degree in applied art which was my favorite subject in the college. Here I gratefully remember our dear teacher Sri. Premachandran who helped me shape my views and instilled a new sense of direction in my life. It was from this same college that I selected my life partner. ( Unfortunately now we are separated.)

After coming out of college I got a job in an ad agency as a trainee artist.I had small stints in agencies and design houses in the middle east. Now I work as senior visualiser –artist in an ad agency in Kerala. I know the journey to excellence never ends and it is the journey that makes it all the more interesting. That’s why I keep on striving to perfect my skills and excel in my field . Feel free to see my works and jot down what you think of them. Your feedback is really valuable for me.
